Unspeakable + Unpurchasable Joy:
This joy breaks inside of my heart now from time-to-time.
It is inexplicable really.
It is not sadness.
I know sadness very well.
It is what C.S. Lewis described it as, ‘surprised by joy’.
Surprised by Joy:
Lewis said that ‘joy’ gripped him as a young boy.
Then, he felt moments of this internal ecstasy as an adolescent and that then as an adult, nothing.
It was the absence of this joy that sent him into atheism.
And then, this incessant search to rediscover these moments of unpurchasable and not capable of exaggeration ‘joy’ that sent him hiking and trekking to find God.
I have to say that ‘unspeakable joy’ is a thrill.
I pray such unpurchasable and not capable of exaggeration type of joy fills our world this Christmas Season.
Travel Far.
